ESET has reached a monumental milestone within the security industry. ESET NOD32 is the first product to pass the milestone of one hundred VB100 Awards received by one product. The one-hundredth VB100 Award was presented to ESET CEO, Richard Marko by John Hawes, Virus Bulletin’s Chief of Operations, on December 16, 2016.

“We are honoured to be the first to receive 100 VB100 Awards for a single product,” said Richard Marko, ESET CEO at the ceremony. “Since the first VB100 Award in 1998, we have grown from a small dynamic company made up of a few technologists, into an established endpoint security vendor with over 100 million users in more than 200 countries and territories.”

Virus Bulletin, an independent testing organization, presented its initial Virus Bulletin Award (VB100) in 1998 and to the present day is considered to be the most recognised honour within the industry. To earn an award, an anti-malware product must detect all current “in‐the‐wild” viruses while not manufacturing any false positives.

ESET has been a top performer in our tests since 1998 and today we are delighted to present their 100th VB100 award – a first for any single product over the years,” said John Hawes, COO Virus Bulletin. “ESET NOD32’s history of excellent performances and zero false positives is a clear indicator of a very well-built, well-maintained and extremely reliable product.”
